Campfire Picture Frame

Here’s a great craft to display a picture from your last den, pack, or family campout. It’s pretty simple to make and won’t take you very long at all. The original craft can be found at InsaneScouter.com. However, there are no pictures to guide you, which for my creativity lacking mind can be kind of frustrating. I’m more of a visual learner and seeing even a finished product can make the whole thing easier to understand. Second, I decided to forego the wiggly eyes around the picture frame and just leave it with the campfire.

Materials:

  • Black Craft Foam
  • Brown Craft Foam
  • Yellow Craft Foam
  • Orange Craft Foam
  • Red Craft Foam
  • Tacky Glue
  • Scissors or Box Cutter

Instructions:

  • Cut your black craft foam into a picture frame (cut out the middle to fit a photo). I cut mine to fit a 4″ x 6″ photo

  • Cut out two logs out of the brown craft foam. For this, I cut two small rectangles and rounded the ends

  • Cut flames out of the yellow, orange, and red craft foam in sequential sizes in that order: Large-Yellow, Medium-Orange, Small-Red

  • Using tacky glue, or a low-temp hot glue gun, glue down the pieces in a corner of the frame in this order for a nice 3D look (I missed a picture or two in these steps):
    1. Log #1
    2. Yellow Flame
    3. Log #2
    4. Orange Flame
    5. Red Flame
